Mile-High City: Take 2

After spending a weekend in Kansas City having a bit of a vacation, spending a couple of weeks with family catching up and celebrating Christmas together, we have arrived in Denver.  Last Monday is when we arrived and we were in for a surprise when we walked into our apartment and all of our stuff was already there!  It was so amazing and such a relief to have everything there already and not have to spend a day moving everything ourselves.  We are very grateful for Heidi, Tim, and Andy for doing all of that work!  So last week was spent settling in and unpacking everything. As of right now, we only have a couple of small piles to find places for.

One thing that we were so looking forward to doing was getting rid of stuff.  After spending a year living somewhat minimally in Alaska, we decided that we have too much.  So getting rid of a bunch stuff feels great. Kind of cleansing - you should try it!  We've already taken two trips to Goodwill and have another few boxes to bring. Hopefully it will all go to someone who needs it more than we do.

The one thing that has been different from our last move to Denver was that this time it didn't take us 3 months to find a job!  Thankfully God decided to give us a job right off the bat this time. Carrie was offered (and she accepted) a job back at YFC which she started yesterday.  It's not the same position, but it's a position she is going to excel at.  We were really trusting God that He had a job for Carrie and that we wouldn't have to wait long.  YFC was able and willing to meet us financially where we needed to be and we feel like God really blessed us with this job for Carrie. It will be a smooth transition for her and she has already felt so welcomed in her return. We are definitely counting our blessings.

A bonus to Carrie working at YFC is that her office is only .8 miles from the airport where I'm going to school so we get to ride to work together every day!  (And makes it VERY easy to just have one car right now). Speaking of school, I started my flight training on Monday and I have already had two flights.  I'm learning so much and I'm having fun doing it.

Luke's first day of flight school - he is excited!
